Mathletes :)

·         Congratulations to the math team on an excellent performance at the Regional ICTM Math Contest last Saturday.  Canyon Breazeale placed 2^nd in geometry, Seth Thomas placed 2^nd in Algebra II, and in Pre-Calculus Damon Stich placed 2^nd with Dana Koerner in a close 3^rd.  Overall the team placed 2^nd in Geometry, 2^nd in the Fresh-Soph 8 person team, and 1^st in Pre-Calculus.  Great job guys!!

This year AHS put together a math team to compete in NCTM events. Ms. Cummings coached the squad. Ms. Lessen, Mrs. Hartman, & Ms. Cummings worked together to create the squad.

FFA Lunch @ BWW

Eating lunch with Jarob, Trent, Haylee, and Emily at BWW.  We are also being joined by 3 FFA State Officers. We are going to meet some soldiers that served in Afghanistan that received care packages from AHS  FFA students. 

3pt Contest @ Regional

Athens plays Illini Bluffs tonight in Manito in the 1st round of the IHSA Playoffs. As always, each team enters shooters into  a 3pt shooting contest. The eventul winner is crowned the King Of The Hill in Peoria. Austin Philips, Ryan McHenry, Sean Phifer, & Mitch Wendling were selected by the Warrior coaching staff. Advancing for AHS is Mitch with 9/15 and Ryan with 5/15. They will shoot again Wednesday night.

Tonight's Seniors

Come out tonight to recognize these seniors for their dedication to AHS. Ceremony will follow the JV game tonight.

Basketball Senior Night

Friday night the Warriors will host the Cardinals from Pleasant Plains in the 2012 version of Senior night.  The Warrior seniors include Mitch Wendling, Sean Phifer, Lucas Brown, and Brandon Vice.  Also, seniors from the pep band, poms, and cheerleaders will be honored for their service.  Tomorrow, look for a photo of all seniors being recognized.

Subway Open House

Enjoying a sandwich with community members, school staff, and kids during the Subway Open House tonight.  Great to see another business move into Athens.
